These highly engineered products are designed to improve the insulating performance of high voltage insulators in wet and contaminated environments. The High Voltage Insulator Greases in this category of CSL product are designed to act as medium-term or interim solutions to reduce the surface electrical activity due to wet and contaminated high voltage insulators. These grease products are non-curing and are intended to provide a much better solution than washing of insulators. Under deenergized conditions, maintenance staff can apply the products by hand or by spray. However, due to their temporary nature, it is recommended these materials only be used as a stop-gap measure. Please see our "Si-COAT (570) HVIC" for a permanent, long-life solution (www.si-coat.com).
Additionally, products are available for polymer (composite) insulator assembly, which yield higher performing finished insulators. A major factor of polymer insulator failure is water/moisture ingress between the core and polymer housing, which leads to ‘brittle fracture’. With the aid of CSL’s novel products, this issue can be eliminated while at the same time improving the efficiency and ease of the polymer insulator manufacturing process.

CSL-541
Polymer Insulator Assembly Sealant/Adhesive
Clear
300 mL Cartridges
1 US Gallon Cans
2.5 US Gallon Cans
5 US Gallon Pails
200 L Drums
Highly effective as a lubricating agent to assist in sliding polymer housings for composite insulators over the insulator core
RTV formulation will then cure after assembly is complete, forming an impermeable bond and seal between housing and core
Essential for correcting moisture ingress issues associated with polymer insulator failures
CSL-542
Low Viscosity Polymer Insulator Assembly Sealant/Adhesive
Grey
300 mL Cartridges
1 US Gallon Cans
2.5 US Gallon Cans
5 US Gallon Pails
200 L Drums

CSL-880
High Voltage Insulator Compound
White
1 US Gallon Cans
5 US Gallon Pails
200 L Drums
Developed for the maintenance of high voltage insulators
Its grease-like formulation gives porcelain insulators long-term resistance to water filming, thereby suppressing leakage current
